The Power of Student Agency

Author of the new book, The Power of Student Agency, Anindya Kundu is an expert on student agency and the contexts that inspire lifelong learning. He roots his talk on the importance of reimagining traditional educational contexts at this moment so teachers can feel empowered to teach to learners’ strengths and provide pillars for personalized learning and fostering agency. Dr. Kundu brings the lens that creating vibrant learning environments requires attention to both social and cultural contexts. Sharing segments and examples from his research, he highlights how basic cultural responsiveness can be incorporated via in-person and remote learning to help students navigate the many, difficult obstacles in their lives.

Lead with Power: Reflections on Leadership, Learning and Agility

John B. King Jr., President and CEO of The Education Trust and Former U.S. Secretary of Education, joins LEAP Innovations Founder and CEO Phyllis Lockett in a fireside chat about ways leaders can energize organizations and embrace innovation alongside change in these pandemic timest. This talk is an insightful, yet practical discussion to remind educators of the power they have to transform the lives of students with their leadership — despite so many uncertainties.
